The Principal object of Ladies Golf Gauteng is to promote and advance the game of golf and by so doing, provide social and recreational facilities for the golfing members of member clubs. We collaborate and co-operate with the National Golfing Body (Women's Golf South Africa, WGSA) and the other Ladies' Golfing Provinces. We bring about and maintain close co-operation between our member clubs and the golf members thereof. We are there to aid, assist and generally promote the interest of our member clubs.

The Gauteng Teams for 72 Holes Teams Championships have changed slightly due to Michelle Leigh withdrawing from the Lions team due to ill health. Michelle is one of our top golfers and has been battling with ill health for some time. We wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her back in top form soon.

THE WANDERERS GOLF CLUB LADIES CHARITY DAY WILL NOW TAKE PLACE ON THE 20^TH JULY 2012 AND NOT ON THE 27^TH JULY 2012 AS PREVIOUSLY ADVERTISED.

PLEASE CONTACT MAY WALSH ON 011 447 6931 OR THE PROSHOP ON 011 880 9682 TO BOOK YOUR FOURBALL. THERE WILL BE A MORNING AND AFTERNOON FIELD WITH PRIZE GIVING IN THE EVENING. PLEASE BOOK YOUR TIME EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT.

Nobuthle's acceptance speech

Kaleigh has been selected to play in the US Kids Golf European Championships for the 3rd consecutive year. This is taking place between the 5th & 7th June in Gullane, Scotland. She has also been elected as captain of the South African team which comprises 48 players between the ages of 6 and 16 years old. Kaleigh will be competing in the Girls 13 age division.

Our match play got under way on Tuesday morning with a field of 16 in the A Division, an A Division Flight of 8 and 8 in the B Division. The Pro Shop very generously sponsored our match play.

Once again the weather played its part, another beautiful autumn day in Gauteng. Glendower was looking stunning and Mike, the green keeper had been really kind to the A Division players and moved them back onto the ladies tee boxes which made the course challenging for them.
