In the words of Rose Bishop of Bryanston "It was a fabulous final played in the true spirit of golf. In the Silver Division the 1st match was won by Bryanston CC 4 & 3 and Royal JHB & Kensington won the 2nd match on the 18th green. The 3rd match was all square on the 18th so off they went down the 1st again in a sudden death play-off. All four players Gill Hutton, Hazel Hansen of Royal and Mandy Rossouw and Simone Sartori of BCC played beautiful golf under extreme heat and pressure conditions. Hazel Hansen sank a 2 metre putt on the 4th play-off hole (after 22 holes) for Royal to be the well deserving 2011 silver league winners. Thank you to Observatory Golf Club who were wonderful hosts and looked after us very well." In the Bronze Division an equally hard battle was fought between Southdowns and Eagle Canyon - it was the first time either of these teams were in a final and the eventual winners were Eagle Canyon. Handing over of the league shields will be done at the Chistmas Alliance on Monday, 21 November, 2011. Well done to all 4 teams as well as all the other league players. It was a most enjoyable league season and we are looking forward to 2012 with great enthusiasm.
